CVS Health (previously CVS Corporation or CVS Caremark Corporation) is an American healthcare company that owns CVS Pharmacy, a retail pharmacy chain, CVS Caremark, a pharmacy benefits manager, Aetna, a health insurance provider, among many other brands. The company's headquarter is in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Consumer Value Stores (CVS) was founded in 1963 by three partners: brothers Stanley and Sidney Goldstein and Ralph Hoagland, who grew the venture from a parent company, Mark Steven, Inc., that helped retailers manage their health and beauty aid product lines.[4][5] The business began as a chain of health and beauty aid stores, but within several years, pharmacies were added. To facilitate growth and expansion, the company joined the Melville Corporation, which managed a string of retail businesses. Following a period of growth in the 1980s and 1990s, CVS Corporation spun off from Melville in 1996, becoming a standalone company trading on the New York Stock Exchange as CVS. It later completed a merger with the pharmacy benefit management company Caremark Rx in 2007, and was renamed CVS Caremark Corporation. The company was renamed CVS Health in 2014, following its decision to remove tobacco products from CVS Pharmacy store shelves. CVS Health's assets include CVS Pharmacy, CVS Caremark, CVS Specialty, and the retail clinic MinuteClinic.

One irritated customer said in a review, "Bad corporation. Bad pay. Long hours. Nothing but disrespect from patrons. Coworkers had serious problems. The CVS corporation itself feels faceless and the upper management I met were rude and dismissive."

"So this company was good to work for in the begining, the benefits are outstadning and when your management vacation is great and pto and sick time is nice. if you have good upper management your set. The pay is minuscule i worked for this company for almost 12 years and never broke 11 dollars even with changing positions multiple times.benefits, pto sick timeupper management in small demographic areas are rude and racist."

"If you're going to work here, expect handling everything on your own which includes picking up calls WHILE customers wait in line for you, People having trouble at self checkout, someone wants things that is locked up, and constantly photo machine trouble. It's a lot to handle when you're by yourself and no one is there to help you. Manager only counts the drawers and the cashier has to do all the work. The pay isn't even good but some employees that I worked with are actually nice and enjoy my time with them. Overall, on top of getting rude customers, trouble with coupons everyday. When you call someone on speaker, no one comes to you and most of the time it doesn't work. "When I started I was promised 15-25 hours, after only two months of working there corporate cut hours to half and I was left working 8 hours a week. Management dismissed my concern and told me there was nothing they could do but have me work retail up front. My first two long shifts when I started I wasn’t given my lunch break because they were too busy. Also incredibly busy and overwhelming with only two to three techs working because there’s no hours to actually have a proper staff.Short breaks, bad management, poor pay"

"This company cares more about the money they can make than the safety of their employees and customers. They have proved time and time again they would rather make a quick buck rather than promote safety. Especially when covid hit. The district manager doesn't care about you, corporate doesn't care about you, and neither does the store manager. They also pay really bad for the amount of work you have to do especially if you are in management. There are never any bonuses and raises are like 10 cents extra every 6 months so in about 5 years you'll have made a whole 1$ bump in your hourly pay. If you think this is the company for you, think again.there are no pros.everything"

Store gets hit by theft EVERYDAY and there are only ever 2 people working. Not safe work environment and management expects you to be security all while getting everything done. Expected ro work off the clock"

"Worst company I’ve ever worked for. The management is horrible. Schedule you 8+ hours with no breaks. The training is rushed and the manager snapped at me when I didn’t recall something in the training I did online when it was crammed and I had to complete it so fast as well as not having any hands on training with a trainer at all. Management is constantly talking poorly about customers and other associates. I should also add that when I thought I possibly have COVID they were being pushy about me still coming into work not knowing if I was positive or negative. Don’t work for this location. It is a joke."

"In Madison Indiana, they will not answer the pharmacy phone. Call wait time in excess of 30 minutes listening to a recording. They do not fill prescriptions that are sent by my dr. office unless I call and ask the status. Then they say they will fill it in 2 hours. Currently have an escript that has been there 8 days and still not filled. You cannot mention this pharmacy to anybody in town that doesn\'t hate the place."

"They are available to take the money but not to give the results. I took a covid test 4+ days ago. Told in writing and verbal 2-4 days to get results. No results. Call to local branch yields nothing and I'm given a number to call. 50 min on hold and i'm told i misunderstand, it's 5-7 days. I say no, i have 2-4 right here in writing. They just keep saying 5-7 using the old adage if you say it enough it becomes true. I ask to talk with management, they put me on hold and leave me there for an hour. I'm sure in their CS metrics they mark off a successful call. I have to cancel business plans for the weekend which will likely cost me thousands as i can't risk being with others not knowing. They don't care, they get paid, I get stiffed and they move on to fleece the next person. Promise one thing, deliver nothing or maybe something late. Change the promise after customer act on it, all OK in their book I guess. Boycott, lots of other places to go."

"The absolute worst. Get this, I finally succumb to their relentless requests for auto refill. Then when it's time to refill "automatically" they tell me that they are out of the medication, as if the need for a refill came out of the blue. I mean it's on "auto" refill. What the hell?"

"I tried to redeem a reward with a physical receipt, but they said they needed the card otherwise I can't redeem it. I can verify my phone number and driver's license but still they refused. Thieves."

"CVS has to be one of the worst companies I have ever worked for. They don\'t care about their employees, especially the pharmacists, and they don\'t reward any hard work. They reward with longer hours on holidays for the customers and we just get a \"Thank you\" email. I love my coworkers, but the customers are mostly disrespectful, unintelligent (I\'m not being mean, its honestly the truth. They don\'t read or listen well), and just horribly rude. I have to say, this job showed me the worst and the highest level of stupidity in people."

"8 years of bullying, harassment to achieve unattainable goals, sighing our initials on forms for voids, and price modifications when it is all the fault of really bad IT work, probably due to lack of pay; being turned from customer service into a sales person because they want money for crappy member ships. Constant harassment of the customers for emails, donations (always during the holidays!). Now...Im about to take on CVS. I called for a request for accommodation because I have a very torturous time wearing a mask for more than 20-30min before it becomes crying and anxiety (from childhood rape). I called april 7th. I did not hear ANYTHING until Aug, and then only pre-generated letter asking me to fill and file medical docs. I dont have health care (too expensive, especially when trying to pay bills by yourself, school loans, and taking care of pet that is supposed to be good for those with mental illness;)). Then I heard NOTHING more until Nov 6th!!! Then two letters. One fraudulently approving my leave of absence that I was told I had to file to keep my job, even though website says it is NOT a guarantee. The other letter telling me I was more than two weeks late coming back to work for my return date that had to be pushed from April 30 to Aug 30 due to lack of communication on their part! Basically this whole mess, I have to appeal with the unemployment office. I feel CVS is fraudulent af! Their website they reach out in 3 business days, FMLA laws require response in 5 days! And I have to prove that even though I have no docs I have mental illness (PTSD anxiety depression, etc). ADA mentions \"regarded as\" so maybe I can get a few who know me to write letters saying \"yes she clearly has issues\". Hope I didnt share too much. Wish me luck. "
